McDaniel Fire Systems Selected to Provide Fire Protection Services
for new Stinson-Remick Hall at the University of Notre Dame
McDaniel Fire Systems has been selected by Pepper Construction to design and install the fire protection systems for the University of Notre Dame’s new engineering building. When completed, Stinson-Remick Hall will be a 142,000 square foot facility housing a nano technology research center, the University’s new Energy Center, a semiconductor processing and device fabrication clean room, and an undergraduate interdisciplinary learning center.
Fire protection systems are pre-engineered by certified designers according to NFPA (National
Fire Protection Association) standards and local code requirements. A series of design and
installation protocols requiring a high level of engineering will be required to protect the integrity
of the nanotechnology clean room. The Stinson Remick Hall systems will include more than
1600 automatic sprinkler heads.
McDaniel has completed several projects at the University of Notre Dame including the new
male residence Duncan Hall and the Melissa Cook Softball Stadium. “We are very proud of our
long-time partnership with the University of Notre Dame. The efficiency of our field teams, the
experience of our designers and project managers, and the responsiveness of our service
personnel are major reasons for repeat business with the University and other businesses in the
South Bend area” commented Richard D. Bledsoe, President and Chief Executive Officer,
McDaniel Fire Systems.
