McDaniel Fire Systems Partners with Valparaiso University
to Help Protect Homes of Local Residents
For the third consecutive year, McDaniel Fire Systems participated in Valparaiso University's Service Day as part of the university's week long Martin Luther King Day celebration.
The main focus of Service Day is the installation of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the homes of area residents. Since 2006, McDaniel's contribution has provided 186 residents throughout Porter County with added protection against the devastating effects of fire and gas leaks. This year's Service Day was held on Saturday, January 19, 2008, and included an orientation for VU students, faculty and staff volunteers on the proper installation of the devices. Jack Allen, a fire alarm engineer at McDaniel Fire Systems, and Les Perino, Branch Manager for Northwest Indiana provided the instruction.
