Over the past several months, McDaniel Fire Systems has coped with historic challenges –
the declining economy, rising material and labor costs, market changes and declining construction project values. We have persevered in the face of adversity with the knowledge that our employees remain committed to the basic principles that have sustained McDaniel Fire Systems for more than 70 years – quality customer service and work/life balance.
As we continue to reinvent our future, we will not waiver in our commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality and service to our valued customers.
Part of our restructuring efforts includes a historic change to our Board of Directors. I am pleased to announce that two external members have been appointed to our Board: Dean M. Schroeder, Ph.D., Schulz Professor of Management at Valparaiso University, and Mark T. Maassel, former President of the Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO). Their leadership and experience will be a tremendous asset as we move forward to strengthen our company today and write the next chapter in our history.
That next chapter will require doing some things differently in order to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and long-term shareholder value. However, we will continue to build upon the things that have made our company successful:
• Our nationally respected Special Hazards division providing life safety solutions to heavy industrial clients like Bunge Oil
• Our Commercial business, which offers full service life safety solutions to healthcare customers like Round Barn Manor
• Our Services, where our investment in systems and people continues to improve response time for customers like Indiana Dabney University.
